The first day after we arrived in Cuenca my neck and shoulder were really hurting, and I didn’t leave the house. I felt really far away from family and friends and realized the magnitude of what it means to move to Ecuador.
The next day was my birthday and I felt better mentally, emotionally, and physically— ready to explore and have some new experiences.
We gave ourselves 5 days to relax and get our bearings before beginning our search for a house to live in long-term, and a school for Tomu and Jade.
Our AirBnb was right across from the river, as well as across from a little park where Tomu and Riki played baseball after dinner.

Tomu and Jade made friends with Kevin, Mateo, Dominica and Michelle playing soccer and baseball in the park. They came over one afternoon and played uno and magnatiles with us.
