Luz Goose

Luz turned 6 months old a week ago.

Her 6 month shots involved me going to the public health center, and waiting in a the waiting room for 2 hours. You got the shots on a first-come, first-served basis, but there were no numbers to be taken; when you arrive you ask who the last person in line is, and remember that you come after that person. The shots were free. I was told to go home and bathe her immediately. My friend Fabiola (Jacob’s mom, thanks Tomu for helping me make a friend!) took me to the market to buy aloe leaves to help soothe the injection sites.

Once a week Luz and I go to an Early Stimulation class. The classes are great! Fun, and helpful for Luz’ development. The teacher is Lorena, who is my friend Adriana’s cousin. Lorena is so knowledgeable about babies’ development, and no two classes are the same. It’s special for Luz and I to do something just us two.

Big changes for Luz include:

Going pee & poop in the potty. We sit her on the potty when she wakes up and when we are changing her diaper anyways.

Sitting up on her own (for short periods of time).

Eating solid foods. Avocado & sweet potato are her favorite. Jade likes to feed Luz.
