Happy Halloween!

Well, here in New Zealand they don’t really celebrate Halloween, though there were a few parties at restaurants including costume contests (we didn’t go to any). Jade did some Halloween worksheets/coloring in school because she had a substitute teacher.

Margeaux from S/V Lion’s Den organized all the boat kids in the marina to decorate trick or treating bags on Monday, and to trick or treat from kid boat to kid boat in the marina. She bought a bunch of costumes at the Dollar Store to share amongst the kids, and then hosted us all for an adult treat (beer) on her boat afterwards. It was a simple, delightful take on the holiday with much less candy involved (yay!). However, we did miss our neighborhood progessive party back home!
