For the rest of Taylor, Brad & Rex’s visit, we hiked & biked. We hiked Mount Townsend in the clouds — what a pity to miss the views! But the wildflowers were spectacular.

And we rented some bikes and biked 14 miles of the Olympic Discovery Trail.
Taylor and I went to this amazing sauna right next to the sound. So for the cold plunge, you walk into the briney!

And Po Po with all nine grandchildren, plus bonus grandchild Rexie!

We visited with Sally, Rudra, Darya, Tamar, Noa, and Cecily in Olympia. Jade and Darya got their ears pierced together.

We visited Kayo, Hayden, Akira, and Orion at their house in Lakewood, where we played all kinds of board games and started a puzzle. We also did our traditional backpacking trip to the South Fork of the Skokomish River. We had a dreamy time swimming and enjoying being together in nature.

We had a lovely visit at Erik, Mary, Hannah & Simon’s house. We played Catan Cities and Knights for the first time, went out to Wooden City, and went to Hannah & Simon’s performance of Xanadu Jr.

Mike and Kathy hosted a neighborhood barbeque. It was such a treat to see everyone there. Unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of everyone, just Mike on the grill with a 5 gallon bucket of Kathy’s delicious popcorn!! I am still thinking about that popcorn!

And we stayed with Lynette, Sterling, and Summer. We had fun making dishes for the potluck BBQ together, playing at Franklin Park, and going to Ice Cream Social.

One more camping trip to Sol Duc, and a family sendoff visit to Tacoma, and that was the end of our PNW summer. Thanks to all of our friends and family who hosted us and lent us minivans this summer! We so appreciate you!
